The Rutherford County Sheriff's Explorer Post will be taking donations for the people in need in the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevier County area devastated by wildfire.

Organizer Andy Pugh says the drive will go through this Saturday. He says after talking to the Sevier County Sheriff's Office, they said their needs are great.

Items needed include bottled waters, wet wipes, prepackaged snacks and hand sanitizer.

The local Explorer Post will also be taking nonperishable food items to a food bank in Sevier County to give to people in need.

If you would like to donate, you can drop your items off in the warrants lobby at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office.

The Explorers will also be set up at Sam's Club on John Rice Blvd. Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.

If you have questions, you can contact Andy Pugh at 615-427-2220.
