A patio table that belonged to Kroger on Northfield Boulevard, a roll of quarters from a theft at Mapco on South Church Street, someone else’s wallet, two tool sets from O’Reilly’s were all tell-tell signs that that the suspect may be responsible for several recent thefts.

When 48-year old Billy Hiett was pulled over on February Street in Murfreesboro for weaving in and out of traffic, police noticed a white powdery residue in plain view. Officers also found multiple prescription bottles in the car, some of which had theft victims’ names on them.

Officers took Hiett into custody and recovered the stolen items located in his vehicle on Thursday. While the case is still open, we can confirm that the Weeks Road resident was charged with theft and robbery at this point. He will be in court on July 7, 2014.
