Record Growth Leads to Need for More Murfreesboro City School Classrooms

Overall Creek Elementary, which is the newest Murfreesboro City School. City officials are looking to possibly add another new school in the next three years.

Just over 12-percent growth over the last two school years is leading Murfreesboro City Schools to add classroom space and consider a new school in the near future.

In addition to more students, Director Linda Gilbert tells NewsRadio WGNS free breakfasts have been a success for the system. She reports 98-percent attendance and dramatic decreases in tardiness, which she believes is due to breakfast being offered for free to all students.
