Currently, there are 5 registered sex offenders living at the Regal Inn on South Church Street. At one point in 2013, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation documented on their website that 14 convicted sex offenders were living on the property.

Stockard wrote in his news story, "Thomas R. Throneberry Properties is using a daily police report to reduce calls by 25 percent and find out if Regal Inn policies are being broken so it can order violators to vacate the premises, according to a letter from Beth Throneberry to MayorShane McFarland."
