After an icy week delayed district tournaments around the state, it's time for region play. The TSSAA delayed the start of region tournaments last week, due to hazardous road conditions. Play begins tonight (Monday) with girls first round games, played at the higher seeds.

The Central Magnet girls, who were seeded number one, after the TSSAA also ruled on how tournaments would be seeded if they couldn't finish play, will host Chattanooga Christian. The game will be held at CMS at 6pm, since the Chattanooga team is coming from the Eastern time zone.

The rest of the slate of games will tip off at 7pm.

MTCS will host a first-round game against East Robertson. The Lady Cougars have defeated the Lady Indians twice already this year in non-district action (66-43 and 63-36).

The four Rutherford County 7AAA teams will be playing District 8AAA teams in region action. The Riverdale girls will travel to Tullahoma while Smyrna goes to Lawrence County. Lincoln County will travel to take on Blackman while Oakland hosts Shelbyville.

NewsRadio WGNS will coverage from Oakland's Randy King Gymnasium of the Lady Pats and the Eaglettes. We'll be on the air right after Rick Insell's radio show. We will delay the broadcast of the Kermit Davis radio show until after the live prep coverage on State Farm Prep Basketball.
