The Linebaugh Public Library System is set to launch the highly-anticipated 'WiFi ToGo' program August 1.

Several of the devices will be available Aug. 1st with the rest of the fleet coming online throughout the month. Devices will be available at all branches and will circulate just like books or any other library material.

With Internet speeds of up to 60Mbps in some areas, the mobile hotspots connect at 4G LTE, 3G and in extreme cases, 2G depending on T-Mobile's coverage area. A map of the coverage areas locally and nationwide can be viewed at T-mobile.com.

"If this is well-received, we can expand this program into offering iPads, Chromebooks and other devices for checkout. Other libraries in the region are having great success and we are excited to be an early adopter. This fits into our strategic plan to offer connectivity to patrons and to offer devices for checkout at the Community Technology Center which opens later next year. ", says Kevin Robertson, Systems Administrator.

Cost to Rent:

For a $5 service charge, patrons can enjoy Mobile WiFi Internet access via a T-Mobile Internet HotSpot device for a 7-day checkout period. The $5 covers a portion of the service cost and maintenance.
