The Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting Friday (8/19/2016) at the new Ford of Murfreesboro facility at the corner of Broad and Northfield.

David Lee, Owner of Ford of Murfreesboro said, "We are extremely proud to be bringing the very latest in dealership design and technology to Murfressboro."

He noted that the new facility employs approximately 150 to 175 people, and includes a 50 bay service department, internet cafe, massive showroom and covered vehicle delivery area.

Ford of Murfreesboro's new facility dwarfs the old Ford dealership, which was razed a couple of weeks ago when the new complex was finished. The main structure has approximately 70,000 square.

When asked about the decision to remain on Northfield at Broad, Lee said, "That was really a no-brainer. We wanted to stay in city center as we feel that the mix of commercial and residential in the area really adds to the vibrance of the community. By staying in the heart of Murfreesboro, we become one of the city's only remaining hometown dealers."

Service To BIG Trucks and Buses

Owner-General Manager David Lee (left photo) told NewsRadio WGNS . . . (16-seconds)

He noted that the massive new service area enables them to even big trucks and buses even when they are fully loaded.

Lee commented, "You never plan on when a concrete truck might break-down. Even if it's fully loaded, our new facility is capable of working on the big rig."

Even the paperwork part will be fun. He said, "Specially designed delivery offices have a floor to ceiling glass wall. While you are completing the legal part, you can see crews through the giant window, who are preparing your new or pre-owned vehicle for delivery."

Special Treatment

Lee explained that Ford of Murfreesboro is a leader in Shelby, Roush, and Sherrod Ford products. In fact, the new facility offers a special entrance to this area as many of those customers arrive at all hours of the day and evening, since they travel to Murfreesboro from distant places. The local dealer is unique in that it has one of the world's largest inventories of these unique Mustangs, trucks and vans.
