Road Could Refreeze Overnight

The Rutherford County Office of Emergency Management is advising motorists to watch out for hazardous driving conditions. Roads are expected to refreeze. Some may have had a difficult time drying out. They advise to be especially cautious on bridges, overpasses and back roads. In fact, we've had several pictures taken of ice covered back roads. You can view those on WGNSRadio.com. The National Weather Service says temperatures will remain below freezing through mid-morning Tuesday, so secondary and untreated roads could be slippery. Locations where standing water may be present as a result of ice and snow melt during the day Monday will likely freeze. This is known as black ice. It may look like dry pavement, but is actually ice.
