A case of road rage involving a gun was reported in the area of New Salem Highway and Barfield Road. Murfreesboro Police responded to the scene Monday just before 2:30 when the victim told them another driver displayed a gun. The woman said she was driving on New Salem Highway and another vehicle abruptly cut in front of her. She then wailed on the horn. The male driver in the other vehicle, according to the woman, displayed a handgun in the rear window of his pickup truck, cocked it and waved it back and forth. Officers did speak to the male driver, who admitted failing to yield the right of way. But he denied displaying his weapon. No arrests were made, but the female victim was advised of the warrants process.
