An armed robbery was reported on West Castle Street where one of two victims reported that as they were crossing nearby railroad tracks, a man armed with a hammer robbed them.
The male and female victims said that the suspect was holding the hammer over his head while demanding money. The victims said they handed over what they had, which included a $2 bill and a cellphone.
After handing over their goods, the male victim was allegedly struck in the knee by the hammer. The suspect then ran down the tracks towards South Church Street.
Warrants for Aggravated Robbery were issued for suspect Ray Chapman, age 31 who was later arrested.
The victim who was struck in the knee was transported to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
