Rutherford County Delegation To General Assembly

State Senator Dawn White and Representative Tim Rudd. They address:

  • Opioid Crisis and cover how it is made worse by federal regulations.
  • Sex Trafficking and that there are more dollars in sex trafficking in Tennessee than there are in drug sales.
  • Auto Emission Testing and how the federal government is holding motorists hostage by threatening to withhold highway funds. Even though only a few metro areas of Tennessee are required to have emission tests, the smaller counties are pushing to adhere to the federal demands, because the smaller counties would also be impacted by a loss of highway funds.
  • Child Abuse issues and reducing or eliminating the "statute of limitations" on the time a victim has to file a criminal complaint.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT NEW LEGISLATION to be considered by the 111th General Assembly is nearing: February 6, 2019 for the State House and February 7, 2019 for the State Senate.
