(MURFREESBORO) The Rutherford County Assessor of Property Rob Mitchell and staff were awarded the 2018 Excellence in Operations award from the Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers.

Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers Executive Director Will Denami explained, "The Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers each year recognizes a single Assessor's office that reaches the highest levels of service and competency for their community. The Rutherford County Assessor's office has excelled in innovation and commitment to customer service and is the recipient of this honor in 2018."

He concluded, "Leadership starts at the top and Rob Mitchell continues to strive for excellence in his team and his operations reflect his dedication. Rutherford County is a fast growing community and Rob manages to move the needle each year in the Assessor's office."

Rutherford County Assessor of Property Rob Mitchell received the award on behalf of the office and said, "I am extremely proud of our team in the Assessor's office. We have an exceptionally talented and dedicated group of folks who want to serve the taxpayers of Rutherford County and we remain dedicated to that focus. We strive to lead in our profession and remain humble to our community. Personally, it is an honor to serve as Assessor of Property for the citizens of Rutherford County and be able to work with such a capable and dedicated team of good people. It is a great honor for our office to be recognized for this award among so many really good operations across this state. We are humbled and deeply appreciate this recognition."

The Tennessee Association of Assessing Officers (TNAAO) is a professional organization composed of the elected officials serving as Assessors of Property in Tennessee. It's purpose is to work on behalf of the people of our great state to ensure fairness and uniformity in statutes regarding the assessment of property, as well as, to promote excellence through best practices and professionalism among those charged with this vital task.
