- Hay Ride, Book Walk, CANDY and more at Cannonsburgh Village on Front St 2pm to 4pm - DETAILS: Trick or Treating today at Cannonsburgh: 2pm - 4pm, "Book Walk" (instead of cake walk) sponsored by Read to Succeed, $2/child, hayride, music.

About Sheriff's Office Event:

Ninjas, Disney princesses and movie characters are expected to parade at the Trunk or Treat event Halloween night at the Lane Agri-Center instead of the Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office event was moved to the Agri-Center due to the threat of rain. The event will be from 4PM to 7PM Wednesday night.

Events include a SWAT Bearcat vehicle, Mounted Patrol horses, emergency vehicles and food vendors so parents don't have to cook supper.

Because of predicted storms, the Sheriff's Office Trunk or Treat event has been moved to the Lane Agri-Center on 315 John Rice Boulevard.

Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh invited children and parents to enjoy the annual event.

"Trunk or Treat gives parents a safe place with a family atmosphere to bring their children for Halloween," Fitzhugh said. "The children enjoy petting the horses and touring the emergency vehicles."

Halloween music will be playing throughout the evening.

Several businesses and organizations will pass out candy.

Slim Chickens will be serving up chicken tenders.
