Rutherford County still has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state

Tennessee unemployment rates for September have been released and reports indicate the rates have decreased when compared to August in Rutherford County. In fact, Rutherford had one of the lowest rates in the Volunteer State when compared to the other 94 counties.

The September unemployment rate for Rutherford County was 2.3 percent. During the month prior, the jobless rate came in at 2.9 percent. When looking back to 2016, the September unemployment rate exactly 12 months prior was 4.2 percent.

Williamson County had the lowest unemployment rate in the state for September 2017 with a low 2.1 percent. Davidson County was tied with Rutherford County at the 2.3 percent mark.

The Tennessee Department of Labor information shows that Rutherford County has come a long way when looking back to 2013. If you go to statistics in June of '13, Rutherford County was sitting at a 7.2 percent unemployment rate.
