Over the past few years, one man was believed to have been murdered in the area of West Main Street and left for dead in Lytle Creek. That case occurred in 2014 and ended with the first degree murder conviction of Charles Lee Warner. In 2016, a dead body has been found under the broad street overpass near Dodge's Store. The death was labeled as accidental. Another unidentified deceased male was found behind Longhorn Liquor Store in 2017. A fourth deceased male was found near the CSX Train Depot on West Main Street this year and that case was a natural death. All four situations are believed to have involved homeless who were living in the area.
