The Salvation Army will open their doors on February 5 and 6 to women from across Murfreesboro to participate in IF:Gathering 2016. IF:Gathering exists to gather, equip and unleash women to live out God's calling on their lives. The third annual event, held in Austin Texas, will be broadcast via live webcast to local communities across the globe.

The free event will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, February 5 and continue on Saturday, February 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Women who are interested in attending IF:Murfreesboro can register for the event at ifgathering.com/localgatherings/ifmurfreesboro/.

"We're excited to host women from across Rutherford county," says Monica Seiler, Captain of the Salvation Army for Rutherford and Cannon Counties. "This event isn't about hearing from a certain speaker, it's about building a community, and bringing women together across denominations and generations to talk about what could happen in our city if we all lived like Jesus."

The first IF:Gathering, held in February 2014, was initially live-streamed to accommodate those who could not get a ticket to the event. In its first two years, IF:Gathering has reached more than a million women in 50 countries worldwide.

"In our wildest dreams, we couldn't have imagined what would happen," says IF:Gathering founder and visionary Jennie Allen. "Women around the world stood up and took leadership in their own communities and hosted the streaming of IF:Gathering in their homes, churches, and theaters. Our dream is that ordinary women would become leaders who would rise up to make disciples in every city in the country and every country in the world."

Seiler agrees. "The world we live in is very challenging and uncertain. But rather than shrink back, it is time for us to love like Jesus loved and serve like He served. I can't wait to see how these women will come together to make a difference in the lives of those in our community."

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
