Victim taken to ER at St. Thomas and then flown at dusk to Vanderbilt.

(MURFREESBORO) Around 7:30 Saturday night (8/11/2018) more than a dozen emergency responders rushed to the Old Fort Park where a fight and stabbing is being investigated.

A parent who was with their child in the adjacent Kid's Castle told NewsRadio WGNS, "We didn't know anything was going on until we heard all of the police cars, fire trucks and ambulances roar-in with sirens blaring and blue lights flashing."

They said the sun had not set, "We looked over to the nearby parking lot where the police rushed. There were two men, and one had really bad wounds on his face."

First responders from Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue administered first aid, and paramedics from Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services took the injured male to the ER at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Evidently the injured man was in critical condition, as we then taken by LifeFlight helicopter to the Vanderbilt Trauma Center.

Reports indicate that one of the two men was taken into custody when police arrived at the scene.

Names of those involved, as well as the extent of the injured man's wounds are not known at this time. NewsRadio WGNS will keep you informed.
