The faculty at one city school are encouraging others to get involved in community projects. Scales Elementary teachers are rapping their thoughts.

It encourages and educates students of the needs in our community by highlighting local charities. Each grade level is asked to select a local charity and ten percent of the funds they raise goes to that charity.

The charities students have selected this year are: A Soldiers Child, Alive Hospice, American Red Cross, Books from Birth, Friend Support, Green House Ministries, Murfreesboro Fire Prevention Program and Therapeutic Animal Partners.

"Step Up and Serve" is a unique fundraiser, and is the only one done at the school all year.
