School Resource Officer talks 16 year old out of suicide in Murfreesboro

A School Resource Officer on his way home from Whitworth Buchanan Middle School came across a mother and son in distress on Monday (8/15/16) evening. Apparently, a 16-year old boy was about to jump to his death from the Old Fort Parkway bridge onto Interstate 24 below.

Eventually, the young man took Deputy Clagg by the hand and walked away from the bridge. He later got help through the local hospital.

Deputy Clagg told WGNS he plans to follow up with the teen to see how he is doing in the near future.
