Seasonal Eating and Fermented Vegetable Classes This Week

The Rutherford County Farmer's Market has free classes that begin at 9 a.m. in the Lane Agri-Park Community Center each Tuesday and Friday while the market is open. On Tuesday the topic will be seasonal eating while on Friday, it's fermented vegetables. For more details, log-on to WGNSRadio.com, keyword farmers. Sept 30
"Seasonal Eating" is the topic on Tuesday, September 30. It will be presented by Misty Layne-Watkins, Rutherford County Extension Agent. Learn how to use fresh, fall produce for delicious meals! Taste new dishes made with the seasons freshest, locally grown produce. Free recipes

October 3
On Friday, October 3, the topic is "Fermented Vegetables." This class starts at 9 a.m. as well and will be given by Dr. Tony Johnston, Associate Professor at MTSU.
Learn the ins and outs of preserving vegetables using the ancient method of brine pickling! This is sure to be a fun class.
