Second Degree Murder charge filed against Murfreesboro man for fathers murder

Detective James Abbott obtained a warrant for Second Degree Murder on 36-year old Jacob Kado for the unlawful killing of his father Mr. Dennis Kado.

On June 2, 2015 around 5:00 a.m. officers responded to an ambulance assist call at 915 Harrison Ave. in reference to an unresponsive male. After arriving at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, medical staff notified officers of the nature and extent of the injuries to the victim, identified as Dennis Kado. Mr. Kado was transferred to Saint Thomas West in Nashville where he later died from his injuries on June 4, 2015. The Medical Examiner performed an autopsy and determined the death to be a homicide resulting from blunt force trauma.

The complainant on the incident was Mr. Dennis Kado's son, Jacob Kado. During the course of the investigation Jacob Kado was arrested on an unrelated charge and was being held at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. As the investigation progressed, Jacob Kado was developed as a suspect in his father's homicide. Detectives served a search warrant on the residence and collected evidence. Jacob Kado was interviewed and provided investigators with information implicating him in the death. Based on the evidence and information from the interview, Detective Abbott was able to obtain a warrant for Second Degree Murder and serve Kado at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office.

Jacob Kado is scheduled to appear in a Rutherford County court July 6, 2015.
