Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey (R-Blountville) Monday announced the appointment of Senator Jim Tracy (R-Shelbyville) to the Council of State Governments (CSG) Transportation Public Policy Committee. The committee brings together leaders from across the nation to address state and national transportation and infrastructure concerns.

“Senator Jim Tracy is a true conservative that understands a truly competitive economy demands that goods and services travel smoothly, efficiently and quickly,” said Lt. Governor Ramsey. “As a long-time leader on transportation issues, Jim understands that effective transportation policy is good economic policy. I trust that Jim’s wealth of knowledge will serve the committee well.”

“I am excited to have this opportunity to benefit our state as well as the nation,” said Senator Tracy. “I’m grateful to Lt. Governor Ramsey for the appointment.”

Meeting at least once a year, CSG’s Transportation Public Policy Committee provides a forum for state leaders to address emerging challenges and issues arising from dynamic transportation and infrastructure policy conditions in the states.

Members of the committee focus on emerging trends, innovative and effective solutions, and viable policy positions and response projects. The committee is designed to encourage multi-state problem solving and sharing of best practices, and to facilitate networking among state officials and between the public and private sectors.
