Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue was on the scene and reports indicate that extrication was required from Captain Joe Barrett's team.

Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services' Randy White told WGNS News they received the call at 5:17 Friday night and that three ambulances were dispatched.

He said two of the injured persons were taken in one ambulance to the Trauma Center at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. White noted that air ambulance is usually called with injuries of this type, but there was a heavy cloud cover and that helicopters are not used when conditions are poor to uncertain.

White noted that in addition to the two persons taken to Vanderbilt, nine others who were involved in the multi-vehicle crash refused treatment from the paramedics at the scene.

Murfreesboro Police Not Releasing Information

Murfreesboro Police Sergeant Kyle Evans told WGNS News via e-mail, "State law prohibits law enforcement from discussing certain matters involving juveniles.  We cannot confirm or discuss your information request.  All we will say is that there is not a FACT (Fatal Accident Crash Team) investigation into any vehicle crashes."

In talking with a representative at Walgreen's, next to where the crash occurred, WGNS News learned that several customers were talking about the accident and that traffic was heavy at that time.

WGNS News will keep you informed. If you saw the accident or took a photo, please e-mail this information to news@wgnsradio.com.
