Severe Weather Possible This Evening

The Storm Prediction Center has placed northwestern Rutherford County in a moderate risk (level 4 of 5) for severe weather, while the rest of the county is in an enhanced risk (level 3 of 5).

A strong cold front will approach the area and by late this evening, bring strong to severe thunderstorms with possible damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes.

The National Weather Service is forecasting the storms to affect Rutherford County between 8-10pm.

Winds will be gusty today ahead of the storms and temperatures near 80-degrees.
