Sheriff of Rutherford County Aims to Fix Up and Clean Overgrown and Vandalized Cemetery in Murfreesboro

The overgrown and vandalized Benevolent Cemetery off of South Church Street in Murfreesboro is about to get some much needed attention, all because of a radio show. Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold said he got the idea to fix up the cemetery after a caller voiced his opinion on WGNS…

The Benevolent Cemetery dates back to the late 1700’s. It is currently overgrown and homeless persons are actually living on gravesites. The Sheriff will start work on the cemetery with the help of Allen Chapel AME Church this February.
