A Sherrill Boulevard man is recovering after being assaulted at his home. Murfreesboro Police Officer James Wilkinson reports on Friday morning around 1:30, a 57-year old victim showed up at Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Station 3 on Mercury Boulevard.

The man told the officer he was assaulted by a group of black men over money he owed them. His wallet, keys and phone were taken before he could get away. A witness, who also lives on Sherrill Boulevard, helped the victim escape the attack. He was able to get the victim's keys back from one of the suspects, but in the process, he was cut with a knife.
