About $900 in merchandise was stolen from the Kohl's Department Store on Old Fort Parkway. The theft occurred several days ago and WGNS obtained the official police report that outlined the shoplifting case soon after the woman was released from the hospital...

According to Murfreesboro Police, Amanda Cawthon entered the store and allegedly concealed about $600 in jewelry, $190 in clothing and one set of sheets. Cawthon reportedly left the store, but was caught by security personnel outside.

Police arrived on the scene and that was when the woman had what was described as a panic attack. She was transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital to be evaluated and later booked on a theft charge. She will appear in court in the near future.
