Murfreesboro Police are investigating a shots fired call on Chaffin Place. It happened Saturday night just before 1am at Motel 6.

Officer Raymond Worden reports in answering the call, he observed a newer model Dodge Challenger with its headlights off leaving the area. After initiating his blue lights, the vehicle refused to stop and continued on to Old Fort Parkway.

Officer Worden returned to the scene after terminating pursuit once more patrol units had contact with the suspect vehicle.

Once back at Motel 6, the officer recovered several shell casings. A witness reported seeing the Dodge Challenger parked near another dark colored vehicle. As the witness approached the vehicles attempting to "buy some marijuana," a verbal argument started. That's when someone in one of the vehicles began shooting, striking the witnesses' car.

Detectives have taken over the investigation.
