The Siegel boys raced out to a 25 point first quarter lead and didn't look back, enroute to a 88-58 win over Riverdale. It was senior night for the Stars and one of their seniors, Aden Burton, certainly was shining, hitting seven 3-pointers for a game high 21 points. Fellow seniors also scored in double figures. Ryan Jones had 14, Dominique Gooch 12 and Charles Clark 11. Riverdale's Brad Woodson led his team with 16 points. Siegel looks for their first undefeated regular season as they travel to Stewarts Creek on Monday.
The Riverdale girls defeated a pesky Siegel 59-34. After leading 27-16 at the half, the Lady Warriors outscored the Lady Stars 16-7 in the third to put it out of reach. Riverdale pounded the board with nearly 30 rebounds and only five turnovers in the game. Tennessee signee Alexa Middleton has 21 to lead Riverdale, 18 from Shelbie Davenport. Erica Roberts led Siegel with 15. Riverdale will play at Oakland Monday night in a game that will determine the number two seed in the district tournament, which is also an automatic bid to the region tournament. WGNS will be there Monday night.
