Siegel & Creek Punch Tickets to Spring Fling; Eagles Eliminated

The Siegel Stars punched their ticket to Spring Fling with a dominating 7-1 win over Cookeville Friday night.

Strong pitching from J.R. Langworthy and Seth Petry combined with timely hits put the Stars in the state's final eight.

Drew Benefield was 2-for-2 with three runs scored on two doubles. Matt McCurry went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and one driven in. Siegel had eight hits total, scoring three runs in the first inning, three more in the second and an insurance run in the fourth.

Stewarts Creek won 14-2 at Bradley Central. The game was started Friday when it had to be postponed due to rain and lightning. They pick up the game in the top of first Saturday at 7pm at Bradley Central with the Red Hawks leading 1-0. They won 14-2 in five innings.

Eagleville lost a heartbreaker at South Pittsburg 3-2 on a walk-off double that scored three runs in the bottom of the 7th.
