Last year's 6-A state runner up showed they're still a force to be reckoned with, defeating the Siegel Stars 47-27.

Siegel marched the opening drive down the field and capped it off with a Greedy Howse touchdown, his first of three on the night...

Howse had over 270 yards on the night in total offense. But the Raptors racked up 336-yards rushing and 127 passing for 463 total yards.

A big play in the game was the opening kickoff to Ravenwood in the second half, which was briefly fumbled by Chris Rowland. But he took it and ran 82 yards and gave the Raptors a cushioned lead they wouldn't give up.

Siegel will have their home opener next week, hosting Hendersonville in non-region play.

Coming up tonight (Friday) on NewsRadio WGNS, Bryan Barrett, Jon Dinkins and Rod Edwards will be at Stewarts Creek as the Red Hawks host John Overton. The Thompson Services Friday Night Thunder Pregame begins at 6 with the DIRECTV by EnterSource Pregame show at 6:30. Kickoff at 7pm.
