(MURFREESBORO) Read To Succeed's Annual Celebrity Spelling Bee drew a packed barn Thursday night at the Grove at Williamson Place, and Simply Pure Sweets' Matthew Joseph tastily defeated Principals Judy Goodwin and Don Bartch along with MMC's CFO Matthew Stearns in some hot rounds toward the end.

The word "clandestine" put Matthew in the winner's circle.

When asked about the amount of money raised, Read To Succeeds' Executive Director Jolene Radnoti told WGNS . . .

The area's "ONE BOOK, ONE COMMUNITY" was announced. It will be A. J. Jacob's It's All Relative, a romp up and down the world's family tree with an exploratory adventure in genealogy and kinship.

And a special thank you to Slick Pig BBQ and Catering along with the Robinson family for providing the delicious food.

Again, Simply Pure Sweet's Matthew Joseph was the 2019 top speller!
