A shots fired call was made anonymously to Murfreesboro Police on Saturday. Evidently, a witness saw a man and a woman arguing outside an apartment on East Main St. and later reported hearing a gunshot.

When police responded to the scene, they found a spent 9mm shell casing near the exact location of where the couple were seen arguing. However, the male who was on the scene denied firing a gun.

As luck would have it, one of the two seen arguing had a warrant for their arrest. Danny Holmes was served the warrant and taken to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. When asked about the firing of a gun, Holmes told police, "I don't mess with guns, but I heard it."

No arrest was made in reference to the shot being fired. The shell casing was recovered as evidence.
