Murfreesboro Medical Clinic proudly announces the addition of J. Blake Kellum, Jr., M.D. to the Neurology department. Dr. Kellum is Board Certified through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the American Board of Sleep Medicine, and the American Board of Medical Specialties. Dr. Kellum will join MMC in August of this year.

Dr. Kellum earned his Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1974. He earned is Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson in 1980, as well as completing his postgraduate work in 1981. Dr. Kellum completed his Residency in Neurology in 1984 at the Ohio State University Hospital, and then went on to complete a Fellowship in Electroencephalography (EEG) in 1985. Additionally, Dr. Kellum served as Clinical Instructor during his Residency and Fellowship at the Ohio State University School of Medicine.

"Dr. Kellum's level of experience in Neurology and Sleep Medicine makes for an exciting addition to the department and the MMC family," said MMC CEO, Joseph A. Peay. "His extensive backgrounds, as well as his many academic and career achievements, have us eagerly anticipating new accomplishments here in Murfreesboro."

Dr. Kellum is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He has been a member of several academic and medical honor societies and the recipient of many awards, including the Joseph Culler Prize in Chemistry. Though currently serving as Director of Morrow County Sleep Hospital and Director of Circadian Sleep Center in Ohio, Dr. Kellum will join Dr. John Witt in the MMC Neurology department in August.

When he is not practicing, Dr. Kellum enjoys reading, music, and spending time with his family. He, his wife, Cindi, and their five children reside in Murfreesboro.
