If you are planning to steal a check or for that matter, just forge your own check – it is not a good idea to use your driver’s license to cash the check. Out of our “Not so bright criminal files,” we bring you this story…

A company in Nashville called UniGuest, Incorporated said that a woman cashed a fraudulent check under their account name and number at a Pinnacle bank branch on Cason Lane in Murfreesboro. The thief apparently showed the teller her driver’s license when cashing the check. Authorities ran the driver’s license number and sure enough, it matched the name and address on the I.D. Now police have the suspects name and address. The license returned to a woman in Georgia.

By the way, the check totaled nearly $10,000.
