A Tuesday (2/26/2019) night domestic situation in Smyrna now has the kidnapped newborn infant safe. The father accused of taking the child has been caught.

Smyrna Police Sergeant Bobby Gibson told NewsRadio WGNS that around 8:30 Tuesday evening, they responded to a domestic call between a man and woman. Upon arrival, the female told officers that 28-year old Beau Beecham assaulted her and left with the couple's 2-week old pre-mature infant.

Early Wednesday (2/27/2019) morning, the suspect released the infant to relatives. Dawson Asher Bonner has been checked by physicians and is now back with his mother. The father was later apprehended in Shelbyville.

Beecham is charged with Domestic Assault, Unlawful carrying and/or possession of a weapon, Reckless Endangerment, Habitual Offender for Driving on a revoked license, Driving on a revoked license 6th offense, Aggravated Assault, and Especially Aggravated Kidnapping. Beecham's bond is $53,500.00. He is currently being held at the Rutherford County Jail until his court date of March 5, 2019 at 1:00pm in Smyrna.
