Smyrna man accused of sex with minor

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has obtained indictments for a Smyrna, Tennessee man accused of having a sexual relationship with a minor in Jackson County, Tennessee.

At the request of 15th District Attorney General Tommy Thompson, TBI Special Agents began investigating Jacob Belcher on May 27th. During the course of the investigation, Special Agents determined, that from October 2013 to March 2014, Belcher developed an inappropriate relationship with a minor female, whom he met online, which culminated on several occasions with sexual activity at or near her family's Jackson County home.

The Jackson County Grand Jury returned an indictment for the 20-year-old Smyrna man, charging him with five counts of Statutory Rape. The subject turned himself into the Jackson County Jail shortly after the indictment was returned, where he was booked and subsequently released after posting $5,000 bond.
