Thefts of shingles were at an all-time high in Murfreesboro in 2014. The thefts nearly halted in 2015. As 2016 kicked into gear, the thefts restarted.

In January of this year a contractor reported that over 100 bundles of shingles were stolen from a work site on Rolling Creek Drive. Now, another report of shingle thefts has been filed, this time in the Promise Way Brighton Park Subdivision.

A total of 96 bundles of shingles were stolen between March 18, 2016 and March 21, 2016. The contractor told police that he is not sure who may have stolen the shingles, but the case was labeled as "Theft Over $1,000."
