Local nonprofit Special Kids Therapy & Nursing Center recently held its Annual Dick Kleinau Investor Appreciation Dinner on Friday, February 5, at CJ's Fine Dining to recognize its top investors from 2015.
Special Kids invited investors who gave $1,000 or more in 2015 to the Murfreesboro-based organization. Over 65 guests attended the event celebrating the work of Special Kids over the past year. The evening commenced with father, Royce Johnson, sharing about his children, Elijah and Malina, who have received therapy at Special Kids for several years.
The event continued with the recognition of honored investors for their ongoing support of the ministry. The individual investor honorees were JoAnn and Arnold Truelove of Cleveland, TN, followed by the church partner honoree, New Vision Baptist Church. The Sixteen Foundation was recognized for their support as a grant partner. Special Kids honored Harper Collins Christian Publishing for its corporate partnership and Royce Johnson for his fundraising efforts through impact Special Kids. Special Kids presented the Buddy Gibbs Volunteer Appreciation Award to MTSU student, Annah Slayton, for her years of service to the organization.
The evening concluded by recognizing the Dick Kleinau Lifetime Giving Award recipients given to investors who have contributed over $100,000 through their lifetime giving. New recipients of the award included Nissan North America, Harper Collins Christian Publishing, Adams Family Foundation, Adams Family Foundation II, The Sixteen Foundation, and Rob and Carrie Goodwin.
