A total of 7,647 votes were cast in the district during early voting period. There were 3,687 early votes cast in Rutherford County. And 649 of those were on the last day of early voting, Thursday, March 8th. Early voting made up over half of the total votes during the January primaries.

Tracy resigned his position in December after being appointed by the Trump administration to a state position in the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The person voters elect on Tuesday will get to work shortly after the election results are known in the state legislature.
