Spring Fling: Stewarts Creek Baseball beats Arlington 2-1

Stewarts Creek won a pitchers dual with Arlington, claiming a 2-1 win in their opening game of the TSSAA Class AAA Baseball State Tournament.

Jacob Hamblen surrendered one run on six hits over six innings for the Red Hawks, striking out seven and walking one. Brandon Rooney threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen, including this game ending double-play:

Rooney was also two-for-three at the plate for Stewarts Creek. They'll battle Seymour at 12:30pm from Oakland Wednesday in the winners bracket. We will have the game after coverage of the 10am Siegel game on State Farm Prep Sports.
