Despite an effort by Republicans, Tennessee's three Democrat state Supreme Court Justices were retained. Here in Rutherford County, the numbers to retain Justices Cornelia Clark, Gary Wade and Sharon Lee, ran about 50-percent to retain and 50-percent to replace. Statewide, those numbers were around 56-percent to retain and 44-percent to replace. All three of the judges were appointed by former Democratic Governor Phil Bredesen.
