We have an update on the theft of a Nissan 240 SX that we told you about last week. The car in question was stolen when the victim pulled into Automotive Service and Repair on West College Street.

After the car was reported as stolen, a passerby called the police when he spotted someone driving a Nissan 240 SX wearing a white mask. Thinking something looked a little off about a masked man driving a car, the witness followed the Nissan to the area of Northfield Boulevard.  However, the subject was not caught on the day it was stolen.

Since the car was stolen, we have confirmed that it has been recovered. Rutherford County Sheriff Deputy Eric Yatuzis was dispatched to West Trimble Road in reference to a possible stolen vehicle. Once on the scene, Russell Nisbet showed Deputy Yatuzis a Nissan 240SX determined to be the same Nissan reported stolen April 16.

Deputy Yatuzis charged Nisbet with theft of property.  Nisbet has been charged with theft of property valued between $1,000 and $10,000. Nisbit is 36 years old. He was released on bond. His court date is June 9, 2014.
