Three different men tried to cash what turned out to be fake checks at a First Tennessee Bank branch office on South Church Street in Murfreesboro. The incident was reported on Tuesday. Bank workers were able to write down the license plate number of one of the subjects and were able to obtain one of the checks as well.

Murfreesboro detectives followed up on the incident and are now investigating. It looks like the counterfeit checks totaled more than $4,000. If the suspects are tracked down, charges will be filed accordingly.

As of Wednesday, no arrests have been made.
