There has been a rise in the number of auto break-ins in Murfreesboro. As first reported by Channel 4 news, June was a busy month for Murfreesboro Police in terms of car break-ins. The number went to over 80 last month when compared to May's count of 44. Experts say it's best to keep all of your valuables out of sight in your vehicles. Thieves with sticky fingers can walk by a vehicle, see something they want or could make a quick score at a pawn shop...and swipe it. Keep your car doors locked as well. MPD is conducting targeted patrols in areas where vehicle thefts and break-ins have been highly concentrated.
