A little before 2:00 o'clock Thursday (11/9/2017) afternoon, a red Toyota RAV-4 SUV was pulling out of the carwash and went through the side of Sylvan Park Restaurant at 1443 Northwest Broad Street. A waitress inside the restaurant was injured along with the elderly driver of the vehicle.

NewsRadio WGNS asked Lisa Greer what it was like inside the restaurant . . .

She wanted to especially thank the Murfreesboro Police, Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue along with Rutherford County Emergency Medical Service "who did such a wonderful job of helping those who were injured along with the frightened customers."

Greer and her mother own and operate the popular family restaurant, noted that they will be closed until repairs are made. In fact, her love for the community was shown after Truman's radio show a few hours earlier in the day.

Jones said, "She wanted us to invite emergency responders who are working on Thanksgiving day to drop by the Sylvan Park Restaurant and have a meal during their shift."

Sylvan Park Restaurant is where former Sheriff Truman Jones does his radio broadcast, and he will keep listeners informed on progress of repairing the eatery and when they will reopen.
