(SMYRNA) 29-year old Christopher Barrow reportedly barricaded himself inside his Keystone Drive home Thursday (12/12/2019) afternoon after being served with an arrest warrant for violation of community corrections.

Patrol Lt. Kenneth Barrett noted that the wanted suspect refused to leave the Smyrna address.

Since situations of this type can quickly turn volatile, the Sheriff's office asked neighbors and motorists to stay away from the neighborhood while negotiations were in progress. Keystone Drive is located between the New Nashville Highway (41/70) and the Old Nashville Highway, in the vicinity of Big Charlie's Bait Shop.

Sgt. Derek Oeser and other negotiators attempted to speak with Barrow, but had no response. The SWAT team responded and used tear gas to convince Barrow to come outside. He was then taken into custody.

Christopher Barrow is being held without bond at Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. A hearing is set Jan. 9, 2020 in Circuit Court.
