Winter Reminders for Do-It Yourselfers:

Fuel gets first priority. Drain your fuel or add a fuel stabilizer
Give your battery a charge. The charging system on most lawn tractors or riders isn't capable of fully recharging a low battery, so you have to keep your battery fully charged - best idea is to buy a trickle charger. It is also a good idea to remove the battery and clean the terminals during the winter season.

The oil. Make sure you check your oil before and after winter storage. Most shops suggest changing it.

Deck clean. Clean grass clippings every time you mow, but make sure you do so before winter storage.
Pressure check. Check tire pressure before and after storage.

Sharpen. Now is the time to sharpen or replace mower blades.

Storage. Store your mower or tractor in a cool dry place during the winter and NOT outdoors.
