Talk about breaking into the wrong apartment… A female said she woke up in her College Grove apartment with a man standing over her bed while looking through her purse. The brave female challenged the suspect and tried to push the man out the apartment door.  Little did the intruder know that he picked the wrong apartment to break into because the female’s husband, a detective, observed the suspect in his apartment fighting with his wife and took quickly charge.

We learned from an incident report that the detective took the suspect into custody. 18-Year old suspect Dallas Marshall Brinkley told police that he thought he was on the MTSU Campus at a friends dorm in Corlew Hall, according to the MPD report. Evidently, he was wrong.

Brinkley was charged with aggravated burglary, simple assault, resisting arrest, public intoxication and underage consumption. His bond was set at over $26,000. The teen will appear in court on October 10, 2013.
