A 17-year old was arrested after a police pursuit on Friday morning in LaVergne and now faces felony evading arrest charges. The teen was with several friends in Murfreesboro when they stopped at the Mapco gas station on Memorial Boulevard. The driver of the car and one of the passengers went into the gas station, leaving the 17-year old suspect in the vehicle. When the 19-year old driver came back outside, he noticed his 2006 Pontiac G6 was missing. Seconds later, he saw his friend drive by in his car.

Police issued a “be on the lookout” alert and authorities in LaVergne spotted the car. After giving chase they were able to make contact with the teenage suspect. When the teen finally pulled over he was taken into custody for felony evading. Additional charges could be pending. The car was towed away for evidence.
